Abbot Apter

Abbot is CEO and co-founder of Mercury Investment, a national real estate investment firm founded in 1995 with interests primarily in multifamily and hotel properties. Mercury and its controlled affiliates have made more than $600 million in real estate acquisitions. Abbot currently serves as a board member for National Bank of Commerce and previously served as a board member for Park State Bank. He is an Investment Committee member for the College of St. Scholastica and for the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. Prior to co-founding Mercury Investment, Abbot served as vice president and co-founder of the Whitecliff Group, a real estate opportunity fund focused on apartment and hotel properties. Abbot was also vice president, shareholder and a director of the law firm of Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Fredrick, P.A. He attended the University of Minnesota for both his undergraduate degree and his law degree, graduating with honors from law school in 1985.

Greg Borash

Greg is CFO of Miner’s Incorporated, a regional, independent, supermarket chain, doing business as Super One Foods, with its corporate home located in Hermantown, Minnesota. Greg joined Miner’s Incorporated in 1996 and has developed superior financial practices in areas of strategic planning, financial reporting, and treasury management. He has produced over $200 million of annual sales by implementing strategic growth through acquisition of business and real estate assets. Greg has been a key executive in building the company to 36 retail locations and in excess of 2,700 employees. Prior to joining Miner’s, Greg practiced as a Certified Public Accountant with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Jason Karnowski

Jason joined SolPacific in June of 2018 but has provided tax advisory services to the company since inception through his previous role as senior manager of tax services at RSM US, LLP. In his nearly 15-year career at RSM, Jason served some of the firm’s largest clients and quickly became their trusted tax advisor. Through his client-centric approach, he has assisted multiple businesses with complex compliance issues, acquisitions, dispositions, transactional structuring, and exit strategies. He also served as the tax location leader of the Duluth office, managing a tax practice of nearly 30 employees. Jason is a Certified Public Account (CPA). He graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and went on to receive a master’s degree in business taxation from the University of Minnesota where he graduated with honors.
